Honda Odyssey car body Why is jittery

Failure phenomenon: a 2007 model wide of the Odyssey multi-purpose car, mileage 165,000 km. The vehicle user is reflected in the 40 ~ 60 km / h, the vehicle body occasional abnormal phenomenon of jitter.

check analysis: take the car, I first road test, road test after a period of sudden failure, the body was shaking so badly, it feels like there is a problem tire balancing lead to the same resonance, but failure immediately disappeared. After repeated road test found that the vehicle speed when the failure of about 57 km / h. If at this time hold the accelerator pedal so that the speed remained at 57 km / h, the body will continue to shake, once the addition and subtraction speed, fault phenomenon will disappear immediately. After road test, I use a dedicated Honda HDS vehicle fault diagnostic testing, did not find any fault codes, also normal engine idle.

For the abnormal phenomenon of jitter of the vehicle, there may be many reasons, for example: ① due to the large gap spark plug, the ignition timing adjustment improper ignition system failure caused; ② due to poor fuel quality combustible gas mixture results in occasional deflagration; ③ fuel system failure, such as oil pressure instability may cause occasional supply shortage; ④ abnormal tire balancing; ⑤ associated transmission system failure. According ldquo occur when the road test; hold the accelerator pedal so that the speed remained at 57 km / h, the body will continuously shake, once addition and subtraction speed, fault phenomenon will immediately disappear rdquo; in this case, I believe that more can be ruled out ①, ② and ③ point of reason, because if it is the cause of these three vehicles jitter, such failure does not occur when a specific speed. So I would point above ④ and ⑤ possible reasons as to check the focus.

In order to verify their analysis, I checked the first spark plug, ignition timing, and the fuel pressure measured jitter occurs when the vehicle, above the really no exception. Then, the author of the vehicle to re-do after four balancing test, the fault remains, which also ruled out the cause of ④. At this point the finger of the transmission, the transmission system so it started to be checked. First, using HDS of the transmission system to make the drive recorder detects, graph parameters after analyzing road test by checking, I found that the transmission shift points of this control, the degree of shift shock and other aspects of the logic control ramps were normal.

toThis diagnostic work impasse, just as no clue, I happen to think this car has an automatic transmission and manual modes, but with the time before the test is automatic mode, manual mode is not also this failure happen? With questions, the author again road test results in manual mode, after repeated failures road test has not appeared. Why is this so? It once again made to the transmission system of the drive recorder detects, road test found that when switching to the manual mode, shift solenoid valve E is always in the closed state, while in the automatic mode, the shift solenoid valve E will not according to the operating conditions At the same time when opening and closing.

Now I know relevant information, the car controlled shift solenoid valve E and the lock switch ldquo hydraulic lockup shift valve; ONrdquo; and ldquo; OFFrdquo ;. PCM shift control solenoid valve E and A / T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A, thereby controlling the lockup torque converter, when the shift solenoid valve E is placed ldquo; ONrdquo; when the start lock condition. A / T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A pressure solenoid valve can be controlled by adjusting the pressure of A / T clutch, and applying pressure to the lockup control valve, thereby controlling the locking process.

FIG 1

The original shift control solenoid valve E working torque converter lock-up clutch, using HDS diagnostic for shifting I a solenoid valve test element, the test results show that the shift solenoid valve E is working properly. To further determine whether or not there is a problem of the torque converter lockup clutch, I decided to use a laptop HDS system for a vehicle subject to fast cars, was observed as shown in the graph (FIG. 1) of the vehicle body when the jitter. Thus graph shows that, when the body shake, engine speed and spindle speed significant speed difference. This indicates that the torque converter lockup clutch slip, this time can not be fully locked, and it is not a manual transmission clutch slip well with similar failure.

So I replaced a new torque converter, installed after the test, the fault disappears. At this time, as shown in a graph of normal (FIG. 2). When the torque converter is fully locked, the engine speed and the spindle speed is almost the same, there is no difference apparent to the rotational speed. This indicates that the torque converter lockup clutch work well, well bonded.

troubleshooting: After replacing the torque converter, prevent completely ruled out.

Review Summary: Why the torque converter lock-up clutch work can cause bad body shake it? This is due to the general torque converter lockup clutch when the vehicle speed is 40 ~ 60 km / h when beginning work, while in such conditions requires a larger engine power output. At this time, once the engine output power or torque converter lockup clutch is insufficient problem itself, there will be jitter body. When the vehicle speed is gradually increased, due to changes in the power output of the engine and the inertia of vehicle travel, coupled with the torque converter lock-up clutch is gradually increased pressure, the driver will feel the vehicle body shake.
