What is traction control ATC?

1. the ATC traction control system

traction control system TCS, also known as the ATC.

when the automobile braking on slippery roads, the wheel will spin, and even the loss of directional control. Similarly, the car started or when hard acceleration, wheel slip is also possible, on slippery surfaces such as ice and snow also make the direction of out of control out of danger, TCS is designed for this problem. TCS rely electronic sensor detects a speed lower than the driving wheel to the driven wheel (which is slippery characteristic), it will send a signal to adjust ignition timing, reducing the valve opening, the throttle is reduced, the wheel brake or downshift, thereby the wheel is no longer skidding. TCS can improve vehicle driving stability, improve acceleration, improve climbing ability. TCS and ABS if used in conjunction with each other, will further enhance the safety performance of vehicles. ABS and TCS may be a common axle wheel speed sensor, and is connected to the trip computer continuously monitors the wheel speed, a low speed when the slippage found, TCS will immediately notify the ABS operation to reduce the slip of this wheel. If found at high slip, the TCS gives an instruction to immediately trip computer, engine deceleration command or downshift the transmission, so that the spinning wheel will not spin, drift out of control to prevent the vehicle.
