When February 9th, the Great Wall Car held a conference in Thailand and took the lead in producing the third generation Haval H6 and ELE Cat in Thailand. At the same time, Great Wall Motors also announced that they will produce 9 models in Thailand within three years.
Actually, I don’t understand when I see the Great Wall Car first produced Haval H6 and Ou Hao Cats in Thailand.
Because in Thailand, pickup is the most popular model, according to data statistics, 2020 Thai market sells 792,146 vehicles. The sales of the whole year is 364,887, which means that Picardials account for 46.1 percentage of Thailand’s total sales volume. We all know that US consumers like Picka very much, but Pickha’s market share is only 20.2 percentage. China is less than 1.9 percentage.
So pickup is very high in Thailand. The most good model for Great Wall Motors is Picka, but I didn’t think that the earliest model in Thailand was not a pickup, but Harvard H6, and Eule Good Cat.
So why did the Great Wall Car have not taken place in Thailand, but produces Haval H6 and Ou Hao Cat? I personally guess may be by the following reasons.
First, the Thai market’s pickup market share is very high, but the competition is also very large, currently, in Thailand’s market pickup share, basically all the pickups in Japan, such as 50 bells, Toyota, Mitsubishi. Among them, it has the highest market share of Bailikika and Toyotaharax in Thailand. The 2020 data has reached 43.9 percentage in Thailand, while Toyota Hairak is 35.6 percentage in Thailand.
In fact, Thai consumers and Chinese consumers are almost, and they also value the brand when they buy cars. So if the Great Wall SteamThe car trade still puts the domestic pickup in Thailand directly with Toyota hard. At the beginning of the Great Wall car just entered the Thai market, I met a strong competitor, which is not conducive to the long-term development of Great Wall.
The second reason is that Picarda in the Chinese market is not necessarily suitable for Thai market. If we take a closer look at the Thai market very popular pickup type, 50-ring and Toyotahara X, which is still based on tool cars. These two models are actually between Great Wall Fengjun 7 and Great Wall. In other words, if the Great Wall will produce Feng Jun 7 in Thailand, then the product is slightly better than Toyota Haira. If you use the Great Wall to produce in Thailand, then too high-end, Thai locals can’t afford it. Finally, Thai people still bought Toyota.
So I think that Great Wall cars must have a pickup in Thailand. However, it will be aimed at Thailand’s consumers’ needs to launch a model suitable for Thailand and Southeast Asian market.
Third causes. The Great Wall Motor is now entering the Thai market, the most important thing is to find a subdivision, then do the best, do the first place, set the brand first. So which of which segment of the Great Wall car can quickly make the Thai market share? It is precisely a compact SUV market, and the pure electric car market. So the Great Wall will take the lead in producing H6 and good cats in Thailand.
Haval H6 is in the Southeast Asian market, which has a higher capacity with Toyota RAV-4, and is more cost-effective. Euler is not more to say more. Pure electric vehicles are still in the Southeast Asian country market, and the Eule Cat can also have a place in the pure electric car market.
Of course, all the above is my personal guess.
Thailand is different from Russia. Russia is a country, but behind Thailand is Thailand 10 countries. Thailand is in ASEAN countries, the most industrial capacity is the strongest, so many car brands have used Thailand as the base and base camp to enter the ASEAN market.
