London 2020, March 19 / PRNewswire / – As the UK’s national standards body, BSI issued to ensure that the autonomous vehicle testing and safety testing for the purpose of PAS 1881. The specification defines the automatic driving vehicle development and testing process as well as the minimum requirements for security management of the test autonomous vehicles (eg, driverless cars) in the road or off-road conditions.
It is the first fast-track standardization of documents, known as Publicly Available Specification (PAS), published as part of CAV BSI standard two-year plan. The program and the Internet and automatic driving vehicle center (CCAV), UK Ministry of Transportation, Innovate UK ( “British Innovation” project) and Zenzic jointly provided. Its purpose is to help speed up guidelines and technical standards for the safe use of CAV.
As the United Kingdom will be positioned as a global center for the development of CAV own, PAS 1881 to help public organizations involved in testing and trials to prove its safety case of the CAV follow good practice. This will help to strengthen insurance companies, authorities and public confidence. With experience and test innovative CAV tests conducted in Britain accumulated, BSI has developed a world-leading specification – the world’s first PAS 1881.
